In our concluding series with actor-cum-photographer Aamir Dalvi, he talks about some of his favourite photographers and the equipment he uses.
Which photographers have inspired you?
Atlanta based photographer Zack Arias inspires me for the minimalist equipment he uses n believes in using. His lighting technique surely is unique.
Ansel Adams black-and-white photography is mesmerizing.
Lindsey Adler’s fashion photography is creative and outrageous. I love the use of colours she incorporates in her photo-shoots.
What camera and lenses do you use the majority of the time?
I use a Canon 5D Mark3, with prime lenses like the 50mm and the 100mm for portraits. I have a wide angle 17-40 which I make use in case I want to get ambience in a shot. Yes, I do possess some whacky lenses like the Lens Baby. It is fun to use them and the effect is bizarre.
Apart from photography, tell me about your hobbies and interests?
Dirt Bike racing is a passion, I find it very challenging. I also dabble in some poetry writing and of course making some crazy videos. Directing short films is my latest passion since I have mastered the art of video editing too now.
